Almost every question about a replacement engine needs the same six details before it can be answered. The form below asks for them in order, which is why it is the fastest way through.

An engine request is not really a message — it is a set of facts about a car. Which car, which trim, where it is, when you need it and how to reach you. Sent through the form, those arrive together and the identification work can start immediately. Sent as a paragraph, they usually arrive in two or three rounds.
You do not need to know your engine code. That is the part this site is built to work out.

Year, make and model get us most of the way. Trim matters more than people expect — a 2008 Civic is a different engine depending on whether it is an Si.

What to have ready
Whichever way you get in touch, these are the details that turn a question into an answer:
- Year, model and trim. Trim is the one people leave out and the one that most often decides which engine family the car has.
- Transmission. Manual, automatic or CVT.
- The stamped engine code or the VIN, if you can get to either. Neither is required. Where the code is stamped.
- The ZIP code the engine is going to, and whether you would collect it or need it freighted. What each of those involves.
- Whether this is a repair or a swap. Replacing what the car had and fitting something it never had are different jobs with different answers.
