Year, make and model get us most of the way. Trim matters more than people expect — a 2008 Civic is a different engine depending on whether it is an Si.

What speeds this up
- Trim
- LX, EX, Si, Type-S, V6 — whatever is on the badge. This is the field that most often decides which engine you need.
- VIN
- Seventeen characters, on the dash at the base of the windscreen or the driver door jamb. The most definitive thing you can give us.
- Engine code
- Stamped on a flat pad on the front of the block. Optional, and worth adding if you can read it.
- What happened
- Whether this is a repair or a swap changes what we would recommend and what we need to check.

What happens to your request
It goes to the seller who fulfils the order, along with the vehicle details you gave and nothing else. You get a reference number on screen straight away — quote it in any reply and the request can be pulled straight up.
Before any price or availability is confirmed, the engine is verified against your actual vehicle. If your year, model and trim point at two possible engines, you will be asked which one rather than sent whichever is on the shelf. If the answer turns out to be more complicated than the vehicle suggests, you will be told that.
What we do not do with it
Your phone number, email address and VIN are never sent to an analytics platform. What is measured is the shape of the request — which engine, which vehicle, which page you arrived on — because that is what tells us which pages are worth improving. The privacy policy sets out the detail.
Common questions
What if I do not know my engine code?
Leave it blank. It is an optional field and most people leave it empty. Give us the year, make, model and trim and identifying the engine is our job — that is the whole reason this tool exists rather than a bare contact form.
Why do you ask for the trim?
Because it frequently decides the answer. A 2008 Civic is an R18A1 or a K20Z3 depending only on whether it is an Si. Without the trim we would be choosing between two engines on a coin flip, and the wrong one costs you freight in both directions.
Do I have to give a phone number?
No. A phone number or an email address — one of the two, so there is a way to send you the answer. A phone number generally gets a faster reply because a quote often involves one clarifying question.
What happens after I submit?
You get a reference number immediately. We confirm which engine your vehicle takes, check what is available for it, and come back with pricing and what is included. Nothing is confirmed as fitting your vehicle until it has been checked against it.
Is submitting this a commitment to buy?
No. It is a request for pricing and availability. If the answer turns out not to suit you, that is a normal outcome and there is nothing to cancel.
